Steve's Carts 2 (Getting Started)

Wiki.png This article is part of the Modded Minecraft Wiki's Tutorials section.

This page is about getting started in the mod Steve's Carts 2, you may steer off track if you want, these are just recommendations.

Making The Cart Assembler[edit]

Block Cart Assembler.png

The core block of Steve's Carts 2 is the Cart Assembler. The default recipe uses 11 Iron Ingots, 8 Redstone, 2 Gold, and 4 Stone. Use the Gold, Iron, and Redstone to make 2 Simple PCBs, then use the PCBs, the other Iron, and the Stone to make the Cart Assembler. While the Cart Assembler does not accept power, it does require fuel to put together each cart. Charcoal or Coal can be loaded in the left slot in the bottom right corner. The slot at the top left of the GUI accepts a Hull, which will limit how many and what kind of Modules can be added. When all desired modules have been inserted, click the 'Assemble' button to begin building the cart.

Your First Cart[edit]

Your first cart will be very simple, having only an Iron Drill, Large Railer (Or just a regular one...), Bridge Builder, Coal Engine, Side Chests, and a Standard Hull; and maybe a Top Chest. This will provide you with a cart that can drill, place Track, and go over gaps with ease. It will help obtain materials while you go ahead and make the next things. Just don't forget to give it rails and bridge materials first as well as fuel. Cart is not Lava proof so consider Liquid Sensors or you run great risk of losing your cart.

Starting Automation[edit]

Now, while your first cart is going ahead and mining away at that cliff face, you can start to automate this process. I do recommend some kind of mod that allows automation in the first place like BuildCraft. You will need to make a Cargo Manager and Advanced Detector Rails, and if you want to, a Module Toggler (So your cart won't break your base...). Before your cart fills up, extend the rail and add 1 of the 2 Advanced Detector Rails with the Cargo Manager next to it. Right click it and make sure that the side the rail is on is set to: From Cart, ALL, Storage. It will take stuff from the cart, as much as possible, and only from the storage slots. Now start attaching the Pipes, Itemducts, Conveyor Belts, or whatever automatic items movers you have to transport the items from the Cargo Manager to your Chests. Soon enough, your cart will fill up with supplies, go back and empty and return while your machine now has begun putting things into storage. From here, you can upgrade your cart, make even more automation for you, or make an entire Minecart army to mine everything in its path.

Have fun with your new mod!
