Engine (Steve's Carts 2)

Engines are a vital part of a Steve's Carts 2 cart; they allow it to move without a player's help. There are five different engines available now.

It is recommended that for carts that are above ground for long periods of time but also go underground you install both Solar and Coal Engines.

Coal Engines[edit]

Tiny Coal Engine[edit]

The Tiny Coal Engine is a weaker but more affordable version of the Coal Engine.

  • Modular Cost: 2
  • Side: Back
  • Pros: Small, cheap, good for mass-producing.
  • Cons: Weak (less fuel-efficient), fewer fuel slots, non-renewable.

Coal Engine[edit]

The Coal Engine is the larger and more powerful version of the Tiny Coal Engine.

  • Modular Cost: 15
  • Side: Back
  • Pros: Strong, more fuel slots, good for long cart trips.
  • Cons: More expensive, non-renewable.

Solar Engines[edit]

Basic Solar Engine[edit]

The Basic Solar Engine is a weak engine that functions like regular solar panels; it must be open to the sky in order to produce energy.

  • Modular Cost: 12
  • Side: Top
  • Pros: Cheap, good for mass-producing, renewable.
  • Cons: Stops working under cover, slow, weak.

Compact Solar Engine[edit]

A compact version of Solar Engine.

  • Modular Cost: 32
  • Side: Sides
  • Pros: Renewable, doesn't take top side which means better module compatibility.
  • Cons: The largest of all engines, has smaller power capacity, stops working under cover.
