Usage[edit]

For a kettle to work properly, a fire needs to be set under the kettle, the kettle needs to be filled with water from a bucket, then requiring the ingredients of the brew being brewed to be thrown into it, and finally it needs a glass bottle to be used on the kettle to bottle the completed brew.

The fire needs to be constantly burning while preparing a brew, otherwise it would not work and need to be redone. Swirl particles coming from the kettle shows that it is running fine, while white swirl particles means the brew is complete. Black smoke coming from the kettle with the brew turning brown signals that something has gone wrong and the brew has been ruined. When a brew is brown and ruined, the kettle must either be emptied with a glass bottle or simply refilled with more water.

Sometimes a brew also requires magical energy from a nearby Altar before it can finish brewing. If a brew gets bottled too early and there is not enough energy available for it, the brew will ruin. Black swirl particles means that there is not enough power and it needs more. A kettle needs to be about 15 blocks from an Altar in order to obtain power from it, and only one Altar can supply power per brew.
