Infusion Altar (Thaumcraft 4)

The Infusion Altar is a multiblock structure added by the Thaumcraft 4 mod. It is required to make items obtainable via Infusion.

Main Part[edit]
The main part of the Altar consists of the following blocks:

Additional Pedestals[edit]
The main part is only enough for placing catalyst and starting the infusion. The ingredients for each recipe should be placed on additional Arcane Pedestals around the main part. The pedestals have to be on the same Y level as the Runic Matrix or up to ten blocks below, with a horizontal radius of eight blocks around it. Placing twelve pedestals as shown in the picture above creates minimal instability and will allow for all of the recipes to be obtainable.
Decreasing Instability[edit]
The Runic Matrix in the center of the main part can see the objects in the area of five blocks above and ten blocks below the Runic Matrix, and twelve blocks in each horizontal direction, for a total area of 25x25x16 blocks. This area is scanned for symmetry, and for each block in this area there should be another opposite of it (X and Z coordinates should have an opposite offset from the Runic Matrix, Y coordinate should be the same), or the instability of the structure will raise. Items that are part of the recipe should also be balanced as much as possible in the same manner; any without an opposite will create instability. Each pair of stabilizer blocks negates 0.2 points of instability. Due to a floating point error, Thaumcraft won't count the first pair of stabilizing items.
However, the player can also place special items known as Stabilization materials in this area, and as long as they are symmetrical, the instability of the structure will decrease.

Supplying Essentia[edit]
During the infusion process the altar will need to drain Essentia from the containers nearby to infuse the catalyst with it. These containers need to be within 12 blocks of the matrix. The containers / suppliers are:

- Infusion Provider
- Essentia Mirror
- Essentia Aggregator
