The Wither Skeleton is a hostile mob from vanilla Minecraft that spawns naturally in Nether Fortresses. When killed, they drop Coal, Bones, and occasionally a Wither Skeleton Skull or their Stone Sword. When a Wither Skeleton deals damage, it has a high chance to inflict the "Wither I" effect for several seconds.

With Tinkers' Construct, Wither Skeletons can also drop Necrotic Bones.

Note[edit]

  1. ↑ Looting enchantment will increase the chance to obtain the rare drops, but not the amount dropped. The Wither Skeleton Skull will be dropped more often when using a weapon enchanted with Beheading or will have a 100% drop chance when the Wither Skeleton is killed by a Charged Creeper's explosion.
