The Packager is a block from the Factorization mod which automates some single-item crafting recipes. The machine attempts to 'package' items placed into its left GUI slot by using them in a 3x3 or, failing that, a 2x2 recipe. If successful, the newly crafted item is moved to the block's right GUI slot and a Redstone pulse is emitted. No energy is required to operate the Packager.
Some of the Packager's uses include automating Stone to Stone Bricks, Cobblestone to Compressed Cobblestones, Sand to Sandstone, Scrap to Scrap Boxes, and Tiny Piles of Dust to dust.
Note: The Packager obeys crafting recipe changes imposed by other mods. Players who are using the GregTech 4 mod may be unable to package item like Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamonds into their block counterpart. If this is this case, the player must use a Compressor instead.
Automation[edit]
The Packager supports automation through its six faces. The top and bottom faces of the machine correspond to its input slot and the four remaining sides connect to its output.
To automatically extract the Packager's output, the player may place a Transposer or Filter against one of the Packager's output faces. When the machine crafts an item, the emitted Redstone pulse will immediately trigger the Transposer/Filter.
Known Bugs[edit]
When an empty Packager is supplied items via BuildCraft Transport Pipes, the machine may fail to start. The author of Factorization, neptunepink, has stated that this is due to a bug in BuildCraft. This issue can be resolved by temporarily pumping an item out the bottom, or removing the items and replacing them from the interface. As such, it is recommended to use RedPower 2 if you wish to automate this machine.
