The Daybloom is a block added by the Botania mod.

A passive mana generating flower that will produce mana during the day. It must have a clear view of the sky and it will not produce while it is raining. Each flower produces a very small amount of mana continuously as long as the sun is visible. This is intended as an early game mana producer and is not an efficient source of mana. Planting it along with the Nightshade will increase the efficiency by continuing to produce mana through the night.

As of version 250, the Daybloom, Nightshade, and Hydroangeas will disappear after three in-game days, but this can be changed in the configuration file. Prior to version 238, Daybloom gets diminishing returns, reducing mana production when placed horizontally next to another of the same flower. This is removed in later versions.

Notes[edit]

  • The Daybloom will decay and die after three in-game days by default. A Daybloom Primus variant that will never decay can be found generated in patches in the world rarely. It also generates mana slightly faster. Attempting to move this flower will kill it.
  • Planting the Daybloom on Enchanted Soil will prevent it from decaying but it will not speed up the rate of mana production.
  • Tossing the Daybloom into a Mana Pool will convert it to a Daybloom Motif variant. This flower will not produce mana or decay, it is purely for decoration purposes.
  • Crafting the Daybloom with a Floating Flower of any color will convert it to a Floating Daybloom variant. This flower retains the exact same characteristics as the Daybloom and will disappear after the configured decay time.
